Sips of Sicily April 2026 - A Private Sicilian Experience
7 Nights / 8 Days | Castellammare del Golfo Base
Tuesday, April 16 – Tuesday, April 23
Benvenuti in Sicilia!
A place where light lingers, flavors deepen, and time gently loosens its grip. This is a Private Sicily Experience, thoughtfully curated for those who wish to go beyond the surface and truly feel the island.
Day 1 – Tuesday April 16 | Arrival in Sicily → Castellammare del Golfo
The first breath of island life.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel the island’s golden light, sea breezes, and centuries of history wrap around you like a warm embrace.
After landing at Palermo Airport, your private driver will whisk you along the scenic western coastline to the charming seaside town of Castellammare del Golfo — your home base and the beginning of your Sicilian story.
Once you’ve arrived, take the afternoon to unwind and settle in. Whether you choose to rest, enjoy a refreshing shower, or step out for a gentle stroll along the marina, this is the perfect time to ease into the rhythm of island life. Maybe pop into a café for your first Sicilian espresso or treat yourself to a creamy gelato — you’ve earned it.
Knowing that today has been a long travel day, we’ll keep things easy and relaxed. As the sun dips below the Tyrrhenian horizon, we’ll gather as a group for a welcome aperitivo overlooking the harbor, followed by dinner at a local trattoria, where you’ll savor your first true taste of Sicily — simple, soulful, and perfectly paired with a glass (or two) of local wine.
The adventure has just begun… welcome home.
Day 2 – Wednesday April 17 | Erice & Trapani
Medieval magic and coastal charm.
After your first breakfast in Sicily, we’ll gather and set out early for Erice, a storybook town perched high above the sea. The journey up by cable car reveals breathtaking views that stretch across the coastline and the shimmering Egadi Islands — a view that feels straight out of a dream.
Once inside the medieval walls, time seems to stand still. Guests can wander independently through winding cobblestone streets lined with stone archways, flower-filled balconies, and the scent of fresh pastries drifting from tiny doorways. Step inside the Chiesa Madre and climb toward the Castello di Venere, where the ancient stones open to sweeping panoramas of the sea below.
Pause to explore artisan boutiques and stop at a beloved pasticceria to sample Erice’s sweet treasures — the delicate Genovesi alla Crema, marzipan, and almond pastries that have made this little hill town famous.
Lunch will be unhurried, shared at a charming local trattoria, where every dish tells a story of the land — olive oil pressed nearby, herbs from the hills, and wine kissed by the Sicilian sun.
In the afternoon, we descend toward Trapani, where salt air, fishing boats, and everyday life create a completely different energy — relaxed, lived-in, and wonderfully real.
As evening draws us back to Castellammare, the harbor lights begin to shimmer, and the sea feels familiar once more. You’re welcome to join us around the table or wander off for a quiet evening of your own time, letting the day’s flavors and memories settle at their own pace.
Day 3 – Thursday April 18 | Zingaro Coast by Sea or Favignana
Endless blue and freedom. Today belongs to the sea.
Salt air, open horizons, and that unmistakable feeling of freedom set the tone as we accompany guests on a full-day shared boat experience, shaped by sea conditions and group preference. Weather permitting, we follow either the wild, untouched coastline of the Zingaro Nature Reserve or sail toward the glassy, turquoise waters surrounding Favignana—two very different moods, both unforgettable.
Sheer cliffs plunge into impossibly blue water, hidden coves appear around every bend, and the boat becomes our floating front-row seat to Sicily at its most dramatic. There’s time for everything that feels right in the moment: diving in for a swim, drifting weightlessly under the sun, drying off on deck, then doing it all over again. Lunch is enjoyed onboard, casual and satisfying, with the sea as our constant companion.
By late afternoon, we return to Castellammare, sun-kissed, salt-tousled, and happily spoiled by a day that felt suspended in time. The evening is yours to slow things down—freshen up, wander the harbor, and enjoy dinner out at a pace that matches your energy, carrying the rhythm of the sea with you long after the boat is docked.
Day 4 – Friday, April 19 | Palermo & Monreale
Bold by day, golden by night.
Today we accompany guests into Palermo, where Sicily turns the volume all the way up. The city hums with life—market vendors calling out their specialties, grills sizzling, colors and characters colliding at every corner.
Lunch doesn’t whisper in Palermo — it shouts. We dive headfirst into the city’s legendary street-food scene, where sizzling grills perfume the air, vendors sing out their specialties with theatrical flair, and recipes passed down for generations are served hot, fast, and without apology. Panelle, arancine, sfincione, crisp crocchè, and sweet cannoli appear one after another as we move through Palermo’s historic neighborhoods, eating standing up, laughing between bites, and letting the city’s raw, unapologetic energy pull us in. It’s messy, joyful, and utterly unforgettable — a feast that tells Palermo’s story better than any guidebook ever could.
In the afternoon, we leave the buzz behind and rise toward Monreale, climbing above the city as the light begins to soften. Inside the cathedral, a licensed local guide joins us to provide context for the breathtaking mosaics and tranquil cloisters. Gold shimmers against ancient stone, voices drop to whispers, and the energy shifts—from vibrant chaos to quiet awe.
As evening approaches, Monreale reveals its most romantic side. We linger above Palermo, taking in sweeping views as the sun dips low, then gather for dinner in Monreale, where candlelight, local flavors, and the glow of the hills create a night that feels intimate and timeless.
We return to Castellammare later in the evening, carrying with us the magic of a day that moved effortlessly from bold to beautiful—Sicily in all its moods, wrapped into one unforgettable experience
Day 5 – Saturday, April 20 | Castellammare Slow Day & Sicilian Flavors
Your only responsibility today: deciding red or white… and knowing when to stop counting.
Today is an open invitation to misbehave — gently, deliciously, and without consequence. The morning is entirely yours. Sleep in a little longer than planned, wander the marina with salt still in your hair, linger over espresso until it goes cold, browse sun-washed shops, sneak in a seaside dip, or do absolutely nothing at all. In Sicily, this isn’t laziness — it’s a philosophy.
By mid-afternoon, temptation calls us back together. Aprons go on, corks come out, and the kitchen turns into a playground as we dive into a hands-on cooking experience and wine tasting. You’ll chop, stir, sip, taste, and laugh your way through traditional Sicilian dishes, stealing bites, swapping stories, and toasting far more often than necessary. What you create, you’ll proudly sit down to enjoy — relaxed, indulgent, and maybe just a little bit indulgent in all the right ways.
As evening settles in, the rules loosen even more. Conversations stretch, glasses clink, laughter lingers, and time quietly loses its authority. This is Sicily flirting back — generous, playful, unapologetically joyful, and completely irresistible.
Day 6 – Sunday, April 21 | Mazara del Vallo & Marsala
Where cultures meet, flavors deepen, and the light does something magical.
We follow the coastline south toward Mazara del Vallo, where Sicily reveals one of its most layered and flavorful identities. Here, Arab-Norman influences are not just history — they live in the architecture, the rhythms of daily life, and, most importantly, on the plate. As we wander through the Kasbah district and along the harbor, tiled courtyards, winding lanes, and the scent of spices tell stories of centuries of cultural exchange that still pulse through the town today.
Lunch is an experience unto itself. We settle in for couscous di pesce, Mazara’s signature dish — fragrant, delicate, and deeply comforting. Each spoonful carries the warmth of the Mediterranean, blending sea and spice in a way that feels both familiar and wonderfully unexpected. This is slow food, meant to be savored, talked over, and remembered.
In the afternoon, we continue to Marsala, where the landscape opens wide and the light begins to steal the show. Salt pans stretch toward the horizon, ancient windmills stand quietly against the sky, and shallow waters mirror every shift in color above. As sunset approaches, we pause for an aperitivo overlooking the Stagnone Lagoon, glasses raised as the sky melts into shades of rose, amber, and gold.
Dinner follows at an easy pace, full of sea-kissed flavors and relaxed conversation — the kind of evening where time slips away unnoticed and Sicily feels impossibly generous.
Day 7 – Monday, April 22 | Segesta & Wine Tasting
Ancient power, flowing wine, and one last unforgettable night.
Today is where Sicily leans in and shows off — effortlessly.
We begin at Segesta, arriving as the land opens wide and the air feels charged. The temple doesn’t simply exist here — it commands the hills around it, rising under vast Sicilian skies like it’s been waiting centuries for this exact moment. A licensed local guide joins us on site, adding depth and context, while the landscape itself does most of the talking. It’s bold, cinematic, and quietly powerful — the kind of place that stops conversations mid-sentence.
From ancient stone, we pivot unapologetically toward pleasure. After a relaxed countryside lunch at a local agriturismo, where farm-to-table cooking turns simple ingredients into soulful, generous dishes, the afternoon softens into something more indulgent. We continue into the rolling countryside for a wine tasting hosted by a local producer, where the setting, the season, and the people shape the experience. Glasses are filled, stories are shared, and each pour reflects the land — sometimes bold, sometimes subtle, always expressive. Whether intimate or expansive, the moment feels personal and unhurried, exactly as it should.
By late afternoon, we return to Castellammare content, glowing, and just a little spoiled, with time to freshen up before one final night together. As the sun slips into the sea, we gather for a farewell dinner by the water — glasses raised, stories retold, laughter easy and a little bittersweet. It’s the kind of night that reminds you why you came… and why leaving never feels quite right.
Day 8 – Tuesday, April 23 | Departure
Addiu, Sicilia. A prestu. Cu’ nesci, arrinesci.
Morning arrives softly, the sea still and familiar, as if Sicily knows you’re leaving and doesn’t want to make a fuss about it. Depending on your departure time, enjoy one last unhurried breakfast — maybe another cappuccino, maybe something sweet — savoring the quiet comfort of what now feels a little like home.
Bags are gathered slowly, hugs last longer than planned, and there’s time for one final look at the water — the same sea that welcomed you days ago and now seems to be gently seeing you off. Transfers are coordinated to Palermo, making the journey home easy, even if the leaving part never is.
This isn’t goodbye. It’s the kind of goodbye a Sicilian Nonna gives — a tight hug, a kiss on both cheeks, and a reminder that the door is always open.
Fu’ beddu assai. Nun videmu l’ura di rivedirivi.
“It was so wonderful. We can’t wait to see you again.”
A Gentle Note
From the very first moment, we accompany you as hosts — setting the rhythm of each day, opening doors to meaningful places, and ensuring every experience unfolds with care, ease, and authenticity.
This is a hosted experience, thoughtfully designed to unfold at a relaxed pace, allowing Sicily to be experienced naturally, responsibly, and without rush. While we don’t anticipate changes, start and end times may shift slightly due to weather, availability, or local conditions — always with your experience and comfort in mind.
