Sicily by Sea & Stone
9 Nights / 10 Days
A summer journey shaped by turquoise waters, working coastlines, ancient stone, and shared tables — where Sicily unfolds slowly, one landscape at a time.
Day 1 – Arrival Palermo → Castellammare del Golfo
Benvenuti in Sicilia!
Upon arrival at Palermo Airport, your private driver will whisk you along the sun-drenched coastline to Castellammare del Golfo, your seaside base home for the next nine nights.
Check into your boutique BnB, unpack, and take a moment to breathe in the salty air and soft rhythm of the sea. The afternoon is yours — wander the charming lanes of town, browse the open-air shops, or sip your first Sicilian espresso (or perhaps a chilled glass of local wine) as you settle into island time. If you prefer, enjoy a short nap before joining the group as evening falls.
Together, we’ll gather for a welcome aperitivo as the harbor comes alive—glasses clinking, the scent of the sea in the air, and the soft glow of lights dancing across the water.
As evening settles in, we sit down for dinner at a beloved local trattoria overlooking the harbor, where time slows, conversation flows, and each dish arrives carrying the flavors, traditions, and stories of Sicily.
It’s the perfect first night—unhurried, atmospheric, and filled with anticipation for the days ahead. The adventure begins — relaxed, authentic, and full of promise.
Overnight: Castellammare del Golfo

Day 2 – Zingaro Natural Reserve by Boat
Today we go full Sicilian-Mediterranean mode. We hop on a boat and head straight for the wild, untamed beauty of the Zingaro Natural Reserve, cruising past towering limestone cliffs and slipping into secret coves that feel like they were made just for us. It’s all about salt in the air, sun on your skin, and water so clear you’ll want to dive in again and again. Snorkel, swim, leap, float, repeat—this is Sicily at its most exhilarating.
When hunger hits, we drop anchor and break out a picnic lunch packed for the day, fueling up between swims with nothing around us but turquoise water and rugged coastline. By late afternoon, sun-kissed and salty, we cruise back toward Castellammare del Golfo, where the adventure ends the right way—with a rowdy-in-the-best-way supper at a traditional Sicilian restaurant.
Expect bold flavors, flowing wine, loud laughter, and the kind of night that makes you realize this is exactly where you’re meant to be.
Overnight: Castellammare del Golfo

Day 3 – Trapani Coast & Erice
Today is where sea breeze meets medieval drama.
We begin along the coast in Trapani, a working port city shaped by wind, salt, and centuries of maritime life. We’ll stroll the waterfront and wander the historic center, where fishing boats sway in the harbor, baroque façades glow in the sun, and café culture invites us to slow down and soak it all in.
From the coast, we take the gondola (Funivia) up to Erice, gliding high above the landscape with spectacular, ever-widening views of the sea, the salt flats, and the surrounding countryside. The ride itself is part of the experience — effortless, scenic, and unforgettable.
Once inside Erice’s medieval walls, we wander cobblestone streets lined with ancient stone buildings, artisan shops, and hidden corners that feel untouched by time. Expect cool mountain air, sweeping panoramas, and pastry stops you won’t forget, Erice is famous for them for a reason. We’ll enjoy a leisurely lunch in Erice, savoring local flavors in a setting that feels worlds away from the coast below.
Later, we descend back toward the sea and return to Trapani, where the day wraps up with dinner at a local restaurant, celebrating the flavors of the sea just as the fishing boats come home for the night.
We return to Castellammare del Golfo as the sky softens into golden light.
Overnight: Castellammare del Golfo

Day 4 – Choose Your Day: Sea or Shore
Today is all about picking your vibe. Go big on adventure or lean fully into relaxation—either way, Sicily delivers.
Option One: Deep-Sea Fishing Adventure
Up early and out to sea with local fishermen for a deep-sea fishing run along the coast. Feel the thrill of the open water, learn time-honored techniques, and take in wide-open views that make land feel far away. It’s bold, hands-on, and pure Sicilian maritime energy.

Option Two: Beach Day Bliss
Sleep in and head straight for the beach near Castellammare del Golfo. Swim, sunbathe, wander the shoreline, or simply claim your spot and stay put. No agenda—just sun, salt, and slow living.
After the morning’s adventure or relaxation, everyone regroups for lunch, enjoyed out at a local seaside spot—fresh, casual, and exactly what the day calls for.
By late afternoon, we return to Castellammare del Golfo with time to relax, unwind, and refresh, shower, repeat.
Dinner is on your own this evening, giving you the freedom to follow a craving, revisit a favorite place, or discover something spontaneous.
Overnight: Castellammare del Golfo
Day 5 – Aspra & Piana degli Albanesi
Today is a journey from Sicily’s working coast to its soulful mountains—and one of the most unforgettable cultural days of the trip.
We depart Castellammare del Golfo and follow the coastline east to Aspra, a humble fishing village where Sicily’s anchovy tradition is still very much alive. We’ll sit down for lunch in Aspra, enjoying simple, honest seaside cooking rooted in the rhythms of the fishing life—fresh, local, and full of character.
After lunch, we step into the heart of Aspra’s soul at the Museo dell’Acciuga (Anchovy Museum), a place that is far more than a museum. Here, the owner proudly invites visitors to participate, not just observe. Each guest will have the chance to star in their own black-and-white “mini movie,” inspired by life in a late-1800s Sicilian fishing village. Through music, poetry, storytelling, and movement, the passion, hardship, and pride of the trade come vividly to life. It’s theatrical, emotional, playful, and deeply authentic; an experience that lingers long after it ends.
From the sea, we turn inland as the landscape shifts dramatically rolling hills, open skies, and cooler mountain air guide us toward Piana degli Albanesi, a town rich in Arbëreshë (Albanian-Sicilian) culture, where centuries-old traditions, language, and flavors remain proudly preserved.
We arrive at a local Agriturismo, surrounded by farmland and quiet countryside, with time to settle in, wander the grounds, or simply exhale.
As evening falls, we gather for a farm-to-table dinner, where seasonal ingredients, regional wines, and heartfelt cooking set the tone for a slower, more grounded chapter of the journey
Overnight: Agriturismo in Piana degli Albanesi (Night 1 of 2)

Day 6 – Wine, Cheese & the Art of Doing Nothing
Today is all about indulgence without obligation — the kind of day Sicily does best.
Sleep in as long as you like, recharge your batteries, or rise early for breakfast as the countryside slowly wakes up around you. There’s no rush and no schedule, this morning belongs entirely to you.
From there, the day opens wide. Spend the morning and early afternoon exactly how you please; wander the grounds, stretch out with a book, nap in the shade, or simply sit and watch the landscape change with the light. No pressure, no plans, just the slow rhythm of rural Sicily. Your only responsibility today is deciding whether it is “red or white”.
Midday, we roll up our sleeves for a hands-on Sicilian cooking class, where you’ll learn to prepare traditional dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from the surrounding countryside. Guided by local know-how and plenty of laughter, we cook together and then sit down to enjoy the meal we’ve created, pairing it with a wine and cheese tasting that highlights regional varietals and artisanal flavors. It’s relaxed, delicious, and deeply satisfying, food made by you, enjoyed slowly, exactly as it should be.
As the sun dips low, we gather for dinner under the stars, where the air cools, conversation lingers, and the countryside feels impossibly still. It’s relaxed, romantic, and deeply satisfying — the perfect close to a day designed to slow you down in all the right ways.
Overnight: Agriturismo in Piana degli Albanesi (Night 2 of 2)
Day 7 – Segesta
From ancient Gods to steaming springs. Where temples touch the sky and legends still rise with the steam.
Today is pure Sicilian spectacle — where myth, history, and indulgence collide.
We leave the quiet hills of Piana degli Albanesi and journey into the heart of Sicily’s ancient world. Rising dramatically from rolling hills and endless sky, the Greek temple of Segesta stands alone and powerful, a monument to gods, legends, and civilizations long past. As we explore the site, it’s impossible not to feel the weight of history beneath your feet, this is Sicily at its most epic and awe-inspiring
From sacred stone, we descend into legend. We continue to the Segestane Thermal Baths, where warm, mineral-rich waters have flowed for centuries. According to local lore, these very springs were where the goddess Segesta once bathed, and whether myth or magic, the effect is undeniable. Steam rises, muscles soften, and time slows as you sink into the water, surrounded by lush greenery and the sounds of nature

After our soak, appetite calls and Sicily answers. We stop for a casual pizza lunch, comforting, delicious, and exactly what the moment calls for. Because after temples and thermal waters, pizza is not optional, it’s essential.
By late afternoon, refreshed, fed, and blissfully relaxed, we return to Castellammare del Golfo and check back into your BnB.
This evening marks your second night on your own, giving you the freedom to enjoy Castellammare exactly how you wish—whether that’s a seaside aperitivo, a spontaneous trattoria, or a quiet stroll along the harbor as the sun slips into the sea.
Overnight: Castellammare del Golfo
Day 8 – Mazara del Vallo & Marsala
Where spices drift through stone alleys, salt mirrors the sky, and the sun sets in gold.
We begin the day in Mazara del Vallo, a town shaped by centuries of sea trade, migration, and layered identity. As we wander through the Kasbah district, the rhythm shifts immediately, narrow alleys washed in color, hand-painted tiles, carved doorways, hanging laundry, and the soft echo of daily life drifting through the streets. Arab-Norman influences are everywhere, not just in the architecture, but in the atmosphere itself. This is Sicily at one of its most unexpected and captivating crossroads.
By midday, appetite leads us to one of Mazara’s most beloved traditions: couscous. We sit down for a proper couscous lunch, fragrant with spice, seafood, and slow-simmered broth — a dish that speaks to Sicily’s deep Mediterranean soul and its ties to North Africa. It’s warm, communal, and unforgettable.

In the afternoon, we journey on to Marsala, where the landscape opens and the light begins to change. We arrive at the legendary Marsala salt pans, a dreamlike stretch of shallow basins, ancient windmills, and gleaming white salt set between land and sea. As the sun lowers, the sky ignites, pinks, golds, and fiery oranges reflecting across the water — and we pause for a sunset aperitivo right in the middle of it all. A glass in hand, salt in the air, and the horizon glowing, this is one of those moments that quietly stops time.
As evening settles, we head into Marsala town for dinner at a local restaurant, where the day concludes with bold flavors, good wine, and the easy satisfaction that comes from a day lived fully.
We return to Castellammare del Golfo later in the evening, hearts full, senses buzzing, and the memory of that sunset lingering long after the light fades.
Overnight: Castellammare del Golfo
Day 9 – One Last Taste & Farewell Celebration
Where the journey slows, bags are packed, and Sicily leaves its mark.
This final full day is entirely yours — a gentle, unhurried, close to the week and time to prepare for the early morning departure ahead. Enjoy a leisurely lunch on your own, revisit a favorite beach for one last swim, wander the harbor, or pick up those final treasures, ceramics, olive oil, wine, or gifts that will carry Sicily home with you. It’s also a moment to pack, pause, and let the memories settle in.
As afternoon fades, Castellammare begins to glow once more. Before dinner, we gather for a sunset aperitivo, glasses in hand as the sky softens into warm hues and the sea reflects the light. It’s a quiet, beautiful moment to slow down together one last time.
From there, we move to our farewell dinner, a final shared table filled with bold flavors, easy laughter, and stories from the week that already feel like legend. During the evening, we’ll raise a closing toast — a simple ritual to honor the journey we’ve shared: the saltwater swims, ancient stones, slow meals, spontaneous moments, and the rare joy of traveling well together.
Before the night comes to an end, each guest will receive a small symbolic takeaway, a simple token from Sicily, offered as a reminder of the places we’ve explored and the moments we’ve shared. Something to tuck into a pocket or suitcase, and later rediscover, bringing you right back to this week whenever you hold it.
It’s not an ending so much as a pause, because Sicily has a way of staying with you long after you leave.
Overnight: Castellammare del Golfo
Day 10 – Departure
Depending on your departure time, enjoy a quick breakfast and prepare for your transfer to the airport.
As you set off, you’ll carry with you not just souvenirs, but the flavors, stories, friendships, and quiet moments that made this journey unforgettable.
This may be the end of the itinerary — but Sicily has a way of calling you back.
“Cu’ nesci, arrinesci.” (Those who venture out into the world always return richer.)
Until next time… arrivederci.
